This page is dedicated to a long-lost part of myself. It's a piece of something mystical, peaking through the trees of the thick jungle. It comforts me when I amble the forests and it welcomes me to one day return to my place, although, knowing that I can't, I also do not know the way.

I feel, despite my memories, that something is forever gone - altered and mutilated from my past. My face is changed, like my perceptions, scraped like warrior's paint from a sape.

I count my many blessings in coming to America when my parents decided to move here years ago, but, in coming, I know that we are changed permanently and my minimal, remaining knowledge of my people and ancestors continues to wane.

Enjoy these small glimpses at a different life I once lived.
